Re: How To Get A Superyacht Job Fast as a Chef

Before I get started let me ask you a couple of questions.

Let's go!

If I can show you a way to get out of restrictions of the kitchen, doing the same thing every day or night, while still doing the things you love, without a budget. Would you be interested to know how?

If I can show you a way to give you more freedom as a chef and your life, while giving you job satisfaction would you be interested?

STOP RIGHT NOW!

Because if you are not interested then YOU CAN STOP READING... Cause this is not for you.

What you are about to read could change your life in so many amazing ways, if you are willing to be open..

You arrived here to find out how but you possibly didn't have any idea about the superyacht industry until now. Okay, so maybe you did.

You might have seen the Bravo TV show "Below Deck".

If you haven't seen it, It's a show where a superyacht crew run around in exotic destinations on a superyacht looking after their guests. While dealing with dramas.

It's typical reality TV

This is not a good representation of the industry....and no lies here, sh*t does happen.

But from my experience this is part of the script, to sensationalize show ratings. Sell advertising and bring a new world to the TV

Now, You're probably curious about whether you could become a Superyacht Chef.

You love to travel, you have amazing cooking skills, you are culinary trained. You have qualified in some very good restaurants. Your repertoire is outstanding and you don't have any commitments. You have a valid passport and your free to go anywhere.

But you are wondering, What if you could find a job that pays you to travel for free, while having a good time.

The winter months are not fun anymore. Your over it, you want the sun. Well, you don't have to worry because there are no freezing cold long cold winters on a luxury superyacht.

You're over the pandemic, you're sick and tired of being stuck with all the restrictions.

Restaurants closing left right and center, not being able to do the things you used to.

Not able to make enough money, period. Let alone go out and enjoy yourself, even enjoying a cocktail or eating out with friends, or even go to the movies.

Generally life as a normal land based chef doesn't even have those luxuries.

So many restrictions...

...and now there is a way OUT!

Finding a job on a superyacht and traveling to exotic destinations sounds like a way out. doesn't it?

Besides, the pay is excellent.

Riding jet skis, scuba diving, wake boarding, is a luxury that could be available to you. You actually get to have downtime, and in the sun.

Getting paid very well, seeing famous places & celebrity's, traveling to exotic places is part of life on board.

What job do you know of allows you to keep 100% of everything they earn????

Yeah, 100% .

There is no rent to pay, cable, Internet, Utilities. Even vehicle expenses, fuel, maintenance, tires, repairs.

You don't need them

...Medical insurance, uniform supplied, clothes washed & ironed.

All the nutritional food you can eat. along with snacks and drinks. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner all supplied... by you or the sous or crew chef.

Air travel expenses are included in your package.

Everything is provided for you. You have no out of pocket expenses.

It's like going on a luxury vacation and never having to pay for anything.

Only that it isn't a vacation and your there to do a job.

But, there's a couple of the big problems you face right now when it comes to that superyacht job...

1: A global pandemic. The Virus at every corner. This is solvable. Yachts are isolated from the rest of the world.

Realizing that you have to have a vaccinated. If you haven't already... goes without saying.

2: Flight restrictions in and out of most countries. Seaman have special passes that can help them get to their jobs.

3: Being able to get the right visas. If necessary - This can solved with employment papers from the vessel.

4: Knowing someone that knows how to get you a job on a yacht.

5: Even getting hired by someone that will give you a chance.

You don't know anybody in the industry that can fast-track you into a position. Well, now you do...me!

There are So Many Questions!

  • Where do I find the right information I need?

  • How do I market myself properly so it gets me noticed & fast?

  • What is the best superyacht to work on

  • What is the entry level?

  • Where do I go to get a job?

  • What type of jobs are there for Chefs?

  • Do I need special training?

  • Do I find a job through a recruitment company?

There are so many questions and I answer them for you.

You might even think you have to be in the area of where the superyacht jobs are (which is freaking you out) Not true.

When all is said and done, you would like to experience the true freedom of luxury travel for free.

Have an adventure, cruise to exotic destinations. Make a tax-free* income, and provide a security for yourself.

Create whatever you like without a budget.

All, while avoiding searching for hours on end trying to figure out the fastest route to a yacht job.

Oh, and the icing on the cake would be if you could see results in a very short time frame, you would be a lot happier!

My name is Darryl Leathart. I was a chef in hotels, restaurants, golf courses, institutions, and chalets all over the world.

Worked on cruise ships globally and passenger riverboats on the Danube river, Europe.

...and co founded a Yacht recruitment company to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Now I help land based chefs become successful in obtaining a superyacht position.

The less painful yet fastest way possible.

How do I do that?

By giving you the tools and information you need to be successful.

Faster, and available to you all in one place.

As a former recruiter, I have the inside scoop on what you need to do...

Imagine how much faster it would be if you could get insider help from someone that has been there. And has worked on both sides of the fence?

I've made all the mistakes, so you don't have to.

Found the best ways to achieve getting into this industry and making a lucrative income.

I have seen how the other crew agency operate and what they do to help you or not help you:

Some of them are, how can I say this, less than scrupulous.

So...What if you could:

  • Establish credibility instantly as a well-organized person and be the right person for the vessel...

  • Leverage your assets & showcase your value, skills, and experience...

  • Complete a job interview with the superyacht captain to the point of, "You're Hired"...

  • Grab a yacht job faster than anyone else that is on the same level as you...

  • Stop wasting hours and hours searching for information when it comes all in one place...

... and much, MUCH more!

Would that get you excited? No!

What about I show you a way that you invest in yourself and in turn, makes you $50,000 - $75,000 or more.

Also, you get paid Tips/Gratuities/Bonuses of approximately $1500 to $2000 per week or more, additional to your salary, or even $7500 as my friend John told me he received for seven days work just for doing his job.

And what makes this even better is...

Now you never have to worry about not knowing anybody in the industry that can fast-track you into a position ever again!

This also means you're not stuck feeling like you can't reach the right person to build credibility.

Who Am I, And Why Should You Listen To Me?

I have been a chef for 35+ years.

From 5 star hotels, & restaurants in London. To Switzerland, California, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Co-founded and owned a successful Superyacht recruitment agency in Florida, USA.

Nowadays, I specialize in helping Chefs gain employment on a Superyacht.

Teaching about adventures in the sun. Never having a winter, unless you want one and where someone else pays you to travel to amazing places for free.

I have the pathway to help you achieve it.

As someone with an in-depth knowledge of yachting. I can guide you through all those frequently asked questions.

Where do you go to get a yacht jobs, and how to flourish in the superyacht maritime industry.

having the right information from a knowledge person who has been there and done that, is golden.

So here is a little history about me that can allay any fears that you might have about whether I am the real deal, as they say...

Welsh Falcon Yacht

M/Y Welsh Falcon

WELSH FALCON, a 53.04 m Motor Yacht built in Sweden and delivered in 1936. to Hans von Rettig a Finnish Businessman.

She was in the top 10% by length of all in the world. She is one of 169 motor yachts in the 50-55m size range.

It was the summer of 1985

It was also the days when I was paid £50 Pounds Sterling a month...

Yip £50 is equal to £132.60 in today's money or $179.71 USD per month. $5.89 a day... But it wasn't about the money for me. I was being housed, clothed, feed, and got to see some wonderful places.

Salaries for an entry-level positions in the Superyacht Industry for chefs now depends a lot.

But salaries start around $4000 USD a month for a Sous Chef. & a culinary trained Head chef from 5,6,7, up to $13,000 With tips of $24,000 - $30,000+ USD a year extra to your salary, making your income $100,000.00+ USD.

After some longevity in the industry Chefs are likely to obtain a rotaional position. Meaning you might only work 2 months on board and 2 months off. but paid 12 months of the year.

But as a chef, you already have the jump on everyone else.

Because you have done some intensive training in your field of expertise. Along with some very special set of skills.

Not the Liam Neeson set skills but a set of skill that is 100% required on board a superyacht.

So this means you are not starting on this level of income.

Sous Chef $4000 -4500 USD

Head chefs $5000 - $9000 - $10,000 +

But this of course, depends on your Training, positions held and establishments you have worked.

Linda, Senior Recruiter

This was one of those times.

As a H.O.D (Head of Department) I was in a position of employing my Sous Chef, I wanted to work with.

But when you are so busy you don't have time to hunt for new personnel yourself. So you use a recruiting company to help you.

You have more important things to do.

The recruiter usually have quality chefs that could fit the criteria that you need. They send you, a selection of suitable chefs/candidate resumes to choice from. You make the call, chat to them, see how the fit and what they know about cooking their personality. If you think they fit you can discuss with the captain to hire the person.

arrangements are made to get the candidate to the vessel and the recruiter bills the vessel.

The Yacht pays the recruiting agency a fee of between 50% - 100% of one month's salary.

It's that simple.

92% of all crew placed on a superyacht stayed 2 years or longer...

So when it comes to knowing how, I can help you, as I have a few tricks and tips.

"Giving up the Cruise Ship business was the best thing I ever did"!

After the first dipping of my toes in the waters of charter yachts, in the '80's I eventually found myself back at sea again working on cruise ships.

This was a great experience for me. In the beginning.

It was a great way to see the world.

That is if you weren't stuck in the same cruise cycle of doing the same 4-7 ports every week.

Puerto Rico, St.Thomas, St.Kitts & Nevis, Antigua, St.Lucia, Barbados, St.Maarten, Puerto Rico.

Boy that got old quick

Yachting for me meant so much freedom from cruise ships. It was such a grind.

Knowing that you had to be back on board before 5 pm - Sailing time.

You only had a small window of opportunity to get ashore. There was no chance of going to see what the surrounding places were like. No tours nothing. Maybe you get to go to the store to buy your shopping supplies.

Yachting gave me days off.

Allowed me to hike, 10 Pin bowling with the crew. catch up with my friends

Enjoy dinners and BBQs ashore with the crew and guests. Enjoying more of a balance, other than working every day until your contract is over.

Yes, you are a fulltime employee. Yes, you might work 9 weeks straight with no day off.

...and the pay off is way higher. You may get $2000 a week additional to your salary. That is $18,000 dollars more than you would make working on a cruise ship for 6 months or a year, before you can go on vacation.

My crewmates became another family to me. Another family I didn't have. These people become more than just crew members. They become part of your life. Which could last as long as you do.

I still communicate with former crew mates in and out of the indusrty...

a Filipino guy that was working with me on the Cruise Ship "Costa Allerga" had been working for 11 months on no day off. Sending money back to support the family. While noble, but not much of a life...

My point is, working in the cruise ship industry is good for some people. But I say, why work harder for less money than you can earn in yachting?

Then I rediscovered superyachts and everything changed for me... I doubled my salary and even quadrupled it within a couple of years.

This is by far the fastest way to earn a lucrative income while traveling the world doing what you love. Earning and having fun in the sun. In My opinion.

Escaping the pandemic... Millionaires and billionaires have ways and means to isolated from all the nonsense.

Private jets, superyachts, etc with dedicated crew members looking after them.

So it's easy... You can be a part of that if you have the acknowledge and know-how.

This book covers all you need to know about how to get into the industry and who can help you.

NOT Convinced Yet?

Oh how I miss those days. It was a lot of fun.

I do say, that I was lucky enough to not have to deal with all the dietary requirements that goes on today.

So you need to have knowledge in al sorts of areas of the culinary arts.

I meet some lovely guests and enjoyed their company as well.

Evidence - Yeah, that's me in the galley.
